Jennifer Stiff Tomlin’s practice focuses on representing school districts on education law issues. Ms. Tomlin handles various employment and school-related issues including employee and student discipline, criminal records checks, public records and meetings, employment discrimination, ethics, special education issues and property valuation matters. She has negotiated collective bargaining agreements as well as handled grievances, arbitrations and statutory termination proceedings. Ms. Tomlin has represented school districts in proceedings before administrative agencies such as the State Employment Relations Board, the Office for Civil Rights, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as well as various county boards of revision and the Ohio State Board of Tax Appeals.
Ms. Tomlin graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Specialization in Business-Law where she was also a member of the women’s golf team. She received her juris doctorate, magna cum laude, from the University of Toledo. While at Toledo, Ms. Tomlin was a Note and Comment Editor for The University of Toledo Law Review and inducted into the Order of the Coif. Her professional memberships include the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association. Ms. Tomlin is also a member of the Development Board of Nationwide Children’s Hospital where she serves on the executive committee as the Membership Chair.
