Mr. Scott has been practicing labor law since the mid-1970s. He has handled hundreds of labor contract negotiations, arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges, proceedings before the State Employment Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board, civil rights litigation, employee discipline and discharge cases, student discipline disputes, special education disputes, and related litigation. He has also handled OSHA matters and issues involving termination of operations.
Mr. Scott received his bachelor’s degree in 1973 and his juris doctorate in 1976, both from the University of Illinois, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Illinois Law Review and graduated first in his law school class. He served as judicial clerk for Circuit Judge Walter Gewin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans in 1976-77. He formerly coordinated the employment law practice at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey in Columbus, and is now Managing Partner of our Firm. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, its Labor Law Committee, and the Columbus Bar Association. He is a founding partner of the firm.
